What is the difference between getting a designer to create my site, and doing it myself? Designers have the experience needed to create a site that works for you, and your customers. You wouldn't peform surgery on your self would you? Probably not, you would probably see a surgeon, so why would you want to create your own website?
How long will it take to have my site done? This depends on when you need it done. Most designers will work with you to meet the deadlines that you have.
So can I have it done tomorrow? Yes, but it will cost quite a bit more than it would if you had a deadline a week or more away.
